Bakara is amazing, but what the ever-loving blue-eyed fuck happened to Wrex in ME3? I won’t deny he has some good moments, but for the most part he’s a goddamned caricature and it’s sort of embarrassing Bakara is showcased alongside this short-sighted, casually sexist mutation of Wrex.

Like, I don’t know if you remember the climax of his character arc in ME1—I mean, it’s pretty easy to forget, right?—but it was Wrex passing on a genophage cure because he trusts Shepard. And no, don’t try to waffle out with ‘well it was just like cloning or whatever it wasn’t a REAL cure’, because it’s presented in-game as a cure. Wrex is emotional and upset—he’s never been this close to a tangible way to help his people before. You have a confrontation, and you manage to convince him that it’s not worth the risk.

Come Mass Effect 3—Wrex has a chance to wrangle a genophage cure out of the salarians*, and goes for it. He’s emotional and upset. And he gets a genophage cure! Hell yeah, motherfucker! So why is it that after he gets his cure he’s emotional and irrational enough that he stops trusting Shepard and demands that it be disseminated to all krogan on Tuchanka at once and they can only use the very first method anyone thought of and no we’re not allowed an extra ten minutes to maybe find a safer delivery method?

FUCKING. STUPID.

*PS: how come nobody ever talks about how incredibly fucked-up it is that the STG was literally just kidnapping krogan citizens for experimentation? No, they’re not helping them recover from Maelon’s tests—they were studying Maelon’s results. Mordin(/Padok) was the only person actually interested in their well-being there, and even he was just making their imprisonment comfortable.
