Yes, it is obvious that people spread satire or false stories as serious news on the internet, it happens ever since emails became remotely popular. I usually see these chains started by spam or, in tumblr's case, by someone with a big number of followers. I'm simply curious, keep in mind that this is no "social experiment" and that I don't care much about people who can't search sources looking stupid on a website. Although it annoys me to see that behavior, I can't reach them all.

If you don’t care about people who don’t search for sources looking dumb, why did you make those posts in the first place?

Posting the news cut from p4rgaming is mostly an experiment. After seeing one of these with 7000 notes, with almost all messages on it composed of anger and/or misandry, I decided to check if even someone with few followers like me could start such chains of ignorance. People simply refuse to take 5 seconds on google to check a post that has no source, and instead prefer to express their revolt without thinking twice.

It’s frustrating to see how readily people will believe things without proof, yes. You don’t know how many people I’ve had to tell that the myth about swallowing 7 spiders over your lifetime is fake—was in fact, literally invented as a demonstration of ‘man, people will repeat the stupidest, most blatantly untrue shit’.

But—that people will do this is already a proven fact. I could pull up a dozen more stories about this phenomenon and human bias without even looking hard. It’s been studied. You’re not the first to observe this. It’s not helping anyone to continue to feed them blatantly untrue shit to believe via ‘social experiment’.

Considering you have the "get to know your followers" post on your front page, and I just started following you... Thought I'd answer the questions! Name is Jess; main ships - Bruce/Tony, Joker/EDI, a couple of others; I abuse semicolons, write less than I should do, and I currently have Gangnam Style stuck in my head; found you through the 'eww straight people' post, saw that you used a Hot Fuzz image, that you loved Salarians, followed after seeing you have thr Sore Feet Song; nothing, I guess

Hi! :D Aaah, somebody else in a torrid relationship with semi-colons! I’m pretty sure I have a common-law marriage to them by this point in my life.

If you like salarians, you’re in a good place, because I haven’t shut up about Mass Effect for a solid eight months. I draw/write more about salarians than anything else, but I really dig all the Mass Effect races to some degree.

(also I SEE THAT SHADOW NAOTO ICON *eyezooms*)
